A Squared Academy of Dance is a new training academy and competitive team for young dancers in the Los Angeles area.
Focusing on building strong foundational technique while growing imaginative artists in a supportive community-oriented environment is our key mission. We believe in cultivating creativity, commitment, follow-through, and respect of oneself and others. A Squared Academy of Dance develop high-level athletes that are prepared for a professional career in dance and life beyond our Academy. We balance this with age appropriate instruction, a focus on longevity in dance and fostering a true passion for and enjoyment of the art form.
Our Pre-Academy program is currently for students at the beginning of their journeys with dance or students that dance recreationally.
In our fall session pre-academy students work on developing foundational physical skills and coordination, fostering creativity and imagination, and learning dance vocabulary all while having fun. In our spring session we continue the work we started in fall while also preparing choreography for our Spring Showcase.
Our Academy program is geared towards training and inspiring dedicated young dancers to reach their full potential.
Academy members receive elite technique and artistry training. Academy members train in the styles of ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern, lyrical, hip-hop, and acro. Students must be at least eight years old and audition to become part of the Academy. Once admitted, academy dancers become members of our award-winning competitive team and are required to attend a certain amount of classes and rehearsals each week based on age. Academy dancers attend academy only classes and compete in 4 to 5 competitions/conventions each season and perform in our Spring Showcase.
